4th conker over, darkness, vinegar then oven... 1080 hardness

anyone found a better combo yet?

Sevensy here. Pick the Conker second from the right, keep in dark, then soak in oil, then bake... gets you around 1080 hardness.

Take the last opponent first, and work your way backwards to the top. (they get harder from bottom to top)

I beat it! Use the same conker creation combo I explained before, then start with the (hardest) first guy, and make sure you play a perfect game when its your swing (perfect accuracy = no damage to yourself) for the first 4 opponents... then youre home free

A pretty feeble game if you ask me. Wacky -- you throw nuts at each other or something, I gather -- but not in a funny way.

It's funny to hear the regional differences. Thirty plus years ago in Mississauga Ontario, when we played this game our rules were quite different. We put out chestnuts on the ground to be hit. Each time we won our chestnut was considered one year older.

Some kids came to school with bandoleers strung with chestnuts and the school yard was pockmarked with fighting pits dug out by repeated battles

man conkers was the greatest, finding the perfect conker was most of the fun
but i was under the impression that vinger didnt work, i tried it one year and it smashed apart instantly, maybe you need to bake it too

i never heard of this before but my New Jersey self just got nothing done for the last fifteen minutes. Got through a sevensy - I think I got more than the 1080 once. I think I did darkness a couple times or three times or something. Who knows. All I know is, make sure you use the one next to the biggest one. Fascinating stuff.

So, who has beat "blanksey"?

Of course, somehow I screwed it up. I made the 1080 combination then a few perfect swings. I suddenly was at "tensey"...yes I know...and then the score line went blank (blanksey?) and my opponent had a hardness of 4.900000

When I missed my third try my opponent had a hardness of 4.9000000... Before he took the first swing my conker exploded. My opponent then missed my string three times and I blew him away on my first reswing.

Still, I never would have understood what that NPR report was talking about without this game. Hats off to the programmer.

So, who is up for a game of dainty?

This reminds me of a game we played as children -- but it had pencils instead of chestnuts (what? bang chestnuts together?! what kind of freak northerners are you guys?). It was called "pencil pop" and I was a champion of breaking others' pencils.
